Janet Marr

Furkat Cattery Janet Marr

Florence, Kentucky, 410142

Janet Marr of Furkat Cattery in the Florence KY area was also a problem for me as passionray describes on this site. I gave Janet Marr a deposit which she cashed and I signed her contract which she drew up and executed, and she did not want to give me my Maine Coon kitten as per her contract. I used to think she was a good breeder even though she had some strange outlooks on business agreements but after reading passionray's comments I would say one should proceed with extreme caution. After multiple legal costs I won the battle with Janet Marr but many Americans may not be able to spend the money to get what is rightfully theirs. Be very careful and let your heart guide you before you fall in love with the kittens. I was lucky.

I find it amazing that "passionray" has found yet another website to vent unfounded and unsubstantiated claims on. I personally have 5 of Janet Marrs maine coons and have had the honor of exhibiting 3 of them to regional and national breed wins in CFA. They range from age 10 years to 3 years old. All of my Furkats are in excellent health and have all been tested (echo) for HCM at Ohio State University by the top cardiologist in the country. Janet tests all her breeding cats for HCM. The DNA tests recently developed are in their infancy and are no guarantee of HCM development in a cats lifetime - the tests only identify one gene marker for the disease. Before anyone posts anything about HCM, they should do their own research on the veterinary colleges websites doing HCM research before hurling around hateful accusations. As humans, if we had ourselves DNA tested for every possible disease that could develop in our lifetimes, we'd be horrified and afraid to live another day.

I DID NOT post this on this website. first of all the above posting is from someone else on a totally different complaint and second. the post you are referring to was deleted on complaintsboard.com but somehow someone copied it and its showing up on here! i HAVE NO CONTROL OVER WHAT GETS POSTED ON THE INTERNET. the only reason i deleted the original post back in Jan. of 2010 is because Janet Marr kept arguing and harrassing me about it. i got tired of harrassment and just to get her to shut up and leave me alone i opted to delete it. I did not re-post the complaint. the last thing i wanted was to hear from janet marr again. she is obvioously a very disturbed individual. why do you think these complaints sites exist. obviously for the reason that they are being used for. if Janet Marr is such a wonderful breeder then she should not worry. just respond the the complaint and voice her opinion and defense and move on. i am sick and tied of having to re-live my cats death everytime Janet Marr gets her panties in a bunch over something posted on the internet. I wish i never had met or purchase a cat from her. its been a total nightmare that just keeps going. THIS WILL STOP. don't assume everything you see is from me because it is NOT!!
I have tried 3 times to contact this site via e-mail to have the situation resolved. no word as of yet. I do not have a desire to argue about all this crap anymore as the cat is dead and nothing is going to ever bring my beautiful baby boy back.
someone posted a copy of a old DELETED complaint on here. IT was not me tho it mentions the name passionray. it also says posted by annoynomous at the top. Either these websites "share" information or someone copied and pasted the post from the other site onto here where it looks like i did. I no longer deal with ANY breeders. last kitten i adopted was a shelter kitty.to each his own i just don't want to deal with breeders anymore. i just want to be left alone and never have to discuss this again as i truly miss my cat and i am still heartbroken about it all. It was devastating to find him paralyzed on the floor crying. and not
fully understanding what was happening.. he threw a blood clot because his heart was enlarged due to HCM. his prognosis was extremely poor and i opted euthenasia to end his suffering. there is still not alot known about HCM but i do know that it is a horrible horrible thing. anyone reading this ..USE your own judgement about purchasing from ANY breeder.
a decision to buy a pet from anyone should be given alot of thought and research. i sure wish i had done the same.
Passionray - Please contact me at curiousgeorge443@yahoo.com re HCM in Maine Coons. Thank you.
