Businesses currently continue to use individuals to knock on residential doors to target vulnerable populations in order to convince them to sign for high-interest loans under the guise of unnecessary home upgrades, hvac, and other major appliances and things that they do not need.
If you have a family member who lives alone and cannot differentiate between scams and legitimate home visits, clearly discuss the differences with them and ensure that they simply do not answer doorbell apps and do not open doors to the salespeople.
