Greg Hill

Fishy

Jersey City, New Jersey

A person claiming to be named Gregory Hill posted an advertisement for an office secretary job on Craigslist.com, stating that it was a contract job and that compensation would be as much as $15-17.00/hr. I applied for the job. The person called me up at a suspicious hour and wanted me to start "immediately" because he was allegedly in a great "hurry to fill the position." He claimed to be calling from California, but was calling from the HR main number according to his [very fake looking] website. Additionally, when I looked up the phone number, it was listed as a LAND LINE in Monmouth, NJ. What sent up red flags for me was that the person claiming to be named Gregory Hill said that he expects all of his "employees" to carry a company phone, WHICH HE EXPECTS THE APPLICANT TO PAY FOR. He told me to bring 2 forms of ID, my resume and $150.00 to the interview, which was at a location quite far from his base of operations and from the branch he was supposedly hiring me for. I've never heard of any prospective employer asking an employee to pay for a company phone, or to pay for a job in any other way, for that matter. When I googled this person's name and info, I saw a video for the same guy I spoke with describing a similar situation but under a different company name (Varsity Prep Stars).
