Tony Morgan

military

peoria, Illinois

He said he was looking for love, on Match.com. Said he was divorced. He was to come home in June or July. But then said he almost got killed, so he wanted me to write a letter of transition leave for him, so that he could leave the army. Then they needed money for processing fee. Then they needed money to fly him home. This is the picture they pretend that is him.

Glad you posted!
These people.... turns my stomach.

FYI, I'm very familiar with the military. They do NOT have a 'getting out' processing fee....
and they do NOT charge a person for their travel 'home'. I won't say more about that, as I don't want to give these scammers any info that could help them. Just wanted you to know that.

Sounds like you got out without damage... good for you!
and oh... by the way.. the military would never, ever accept a 'letter' from someone as a reason for letting them 'get out'..... people have been able to cut their contracts short, for severe humanitarian reasons, but these reasons are few and far between, very rare. IF that happens, the reasons are verified (thoroughly) by the military, and the military would make that decision. The military has invested a lot of $ in that person for training, travel, etc. They don't take letting someone 'out' lightly. IF that decision were made....as posted, there would NOT be a processing fee, or cost to travel 'home.
Thank you for that bit of advice, regarding the military. And yes, you're so correctly about not writing things out in the open, so that the scammers don't be changing up their MOs. Later on, I shall post some more postings about other scammers & yes, I was presented with that kind of scenario-I stopped all contact, period. What I've also noticed is, that scammers would rather be chatting on the Messenger, as opposed to sending out emails. I'd rather prefer emails, with their picture attachments, to have a record of them making some communication-and also, to catch them in the act, of their dastardly deeds. It's all the same thing, caring for a sick relative in the African continent (mostly Nigeria), their parent/s or partner died in some accident (plane crash, car accident or some terminal illness), they may have been the only child, some may have a child-more than likely not. Yet, they claim in a major metropolitan city-but don't know nothing about the landmarks, zip codes of where they live, their public servants in office or anything of that sort! I hope that legislation, with cooperation from the foreign governments, will put a stop to this behavior.
