Publish America

PA deception

Frederick, Maryland

For the love of all that is rational, under NO circumstances should you sign a contract with Publish America! If you are an author looking for a publisher, run as fast as you can from these guys! I stupidly signed with them two years ago and am now fighting to get my book from them. They have no intention of doing anything other than forcing you, the author, to buy your own books. My book is a paperback at just over a hundred pages. They are charging $24.99 for it, even tho I participated in a promotion that was supposed to drop the price to a much more reasonable $7.99. When I originally brought the issue to their attention, they helpfully suggested that I pay more money to go hardcover, even tho I already paid them to participate. See, that's how they do it. They trick you with slick words and then they say, "that's not what we said". I would NEVER have signed with them if I had known they were a book mill. They don't read any submissions before accepting them. Just look up a book titled, "Atlanta Nights.". It's a hoax book purposely written so badly that no ethical publisher would have accepted it. But PA did, because that's what they do. They deceive, they scam, they take advantage of two things: they know there are a lot of unknown authors out there, and they know WE know our chance of getting picked up by a mainstream publisher is slim. So they prey on that. Don't make the same mistake I did.
Don't sign anything with Publish America. EVER.
